It’s been a while since I’ve put up any updates about my daily ride, the Pelizzoli Leggenda, but now that I’ve had the pleasure of riding for two years already, it seems proper to give an update on my daily rider..
The original build was like THIS.
It’s now been my daily ride as long as the weather has allowed. Once the snow sets in it becomes quite useless ;D
Speaking of weather, one of the mistakes I made when initially placing the order for the frame was that I said I was content on fitting 23mm tires. What I didn’t understand then was that “fitting” on Pelizzoli standards meant 2mm of clearance with a 23mm tire on the front.
Any rain, and the dirt would just clog up the fork with mud and sand and shit and meant I didn’t really use this bike in bad weather at all.
Upon one stormy evening I had enough, took a file to it and filed it down so that now I’ve got room for a 25mm tire :D The season thus just extended a helluvalot.
Other major upgrades were the change to Omniums as my go-to crankset. This was simply because of the Qfactor problems I was having (clearance with the chain stay) and because I simply love the simplicity of the SRAM omnium system. So easy to maintain and take care of.
As much as I love the feel and look of my Fivegold, I needed something a little more comfy when I wear a backpack and carry my weeks groceries, so my saddle has found its change to a Fyzik Arian. Heaven in the form of a saddle. Godly.
My bombproof H+Son Formation Face wheelset was ditched in favor of a something little bit more classy.
VICTOIRE SUPERSPRINT hubs laced to H+Son archetype 32front 36 back.
I Gotta say the supersprints are the single most amazing hubs I have ever seen, the cog slot loading is fantastic for quick ratio changes, the bearings are ridiculously smooth and they simply scream sex-on-fire.
Here’s a few from a raido a few weeks back. Good times.
