I NEVER STOPPED LOOKING.

Went out riding properly for the first time since having been sick.. Weather was great but honestly felt like crap. I probably had like 2% of my bodys resources at my disposal since I hadn’t properly digested anything for the last 5 days.  

Luckily though my friend Miska treated me to a fine lunch at an indian restaurant and the day picked up from there.. These are a few of the shots once more. All photos from the Fujifilm X-Pro1.

I’m still recovering from a very severe case of stomach-flu but being trapped inside my house was driving me nuts and it didn’t take a lot of convincing from Susa to go out for a quick ride. She took out her baby for the first time this spring (more on that bike later) and we just rode the smooth roads a bit, taking in all that bliss that the smooth tarmac had to offer.  

I’ll still have to stay in a few days but at least I got a good break :)

Stopped by my LBS Pelago Bicycles on wednesday to pick up my new frame and some parts for it and couldn’t resist trying out my new lens SLR Magic Hyperprime for a few shots in the dark shop. Nothing special this time.. just some shots to try out the camera..

The Fujifilm coupled with the SLR Magic Hyperprime is a great combination and while I still have to learn a lot about it, it seems like it’s a bloody brilliant camera for my own purposes. The shots are all SOC.

Being an avid Winter Cyclist and tired of hearing people complain about the weather and a few centimetres of snow I went out with a friend the other day to film some cycling on a basic finnish winter day in Helsinki. Slush, cold, and slippery. The soundtrack is Window by Album Leaf and the voice over was provided by my Brother Samu Ainesmaa (ainesmaa.com). 

Here is the short and some photos we took as well.

It’s so easy to lose focus of the joy of riding when conditions are hard but even in the worst of weathers you can find that simple joy of mind-emptying simplicity and lose yourself into the gentle hum of spinning steel.

It’s now been way too many months of snow for me and each coming morning I wait for the temperature to rise a bit above 0°C so the snow would really start melting.

It’s been a good winter though that it really hasn’t been too cold at any point to bike and the roads have actually been ok where I live for the most part (except the past  few weeks).

I do miss the summer though and look forwards to it every day. When I look back on photos like these from last summer they just make the waiting even harder knowing the wait is definitely going to be worth it :)

So here some things that keep me waiting for the winters edge when we cross over into spring.
