Had the chance to work with Bikeminimalism on this piece we filmed last winter. Good times and an awesome product that I simply cannot get over.

It’s kept me warm and dry now over the winter and I still hold to my initial reaction that this is by far the best jacket I have ever owned. Fabulous product of astounding quality from SWRVE.

“SWRVE MILWAUKEE ES TEST RESULTS 

Test conditions
We wore the swrve Milwaukee ES throughout the whole fall-winter season. Used through heavy rains, through sleet, slush and snow, as well as through windy Arctic blizzards, the swrve Milwaukee ES served us well. Hence, our initial reactions rightHERE proved us right.

Warmth
During the fall, a short sleeve merino tee was enough underneath. As the temperatures dropped to below freezing, another long sleeve merino layer was added. In mid winter, with temperatures of around 15-25°C, we used an additional merino sweater. All in all, three layers of merino got us through the winter quite nicely.

Breathability
When beginning our tests, the jacket seemed extremely breathable, even TOO breathable. However, as we got down to some proper riding, little pearls of humidity started to surface onto the exterior. The jacket efficiently wicked moisture away from the skin, guaranteeing a warm ride even in coldest of weathers.

Protection
As we quickly found the swrve Milwaukee ES to be very water resistant, we tried it out in more radical settings. After a fifteen-second shower, everything was virtually dry underneath, so we decided to replicate the experiment for the film. Pouring a few buckets of water on our model didn’t impress him much, but once we finished filming the sequence he was quite happy-go-lucky to let us film him riding around the ice-cold streets of Helsinki…pretty impressive.

28.4.2013 FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I must confess that this little camera has put me in a love/hate position.
Unboxing it and holding it for the first time saw me flooded with all kinds of nostalgia. It’s way smaller and lighter than one would think, but having owned such cameras as the M8, you would actually wish a little bit more heft to the built. This is not to say that it’s not a sturdy little camera, quite the opposite, the build quality is beautiful as is the design of it!
Powering it up for the first time was interesting. Personally i hate modern digicams because of their little bleeps and sounds and for the first five minutes I was incredibly disappointed and annoyed at it’s little quirks.

Another bad thing about it is the rear control wheel. It is incredibly easy to turn and press. More often than not you end up turning the wheel while pressing and changing some other setting than you would have wished. Very annoying.
Otherwise it’s quite brilliant to handle and use and the addition of the Q button from previous models really make using it that much more pleasurable.

After taking photos with it for a week I was slightly unimpressed by it’s image quality on the back of the screen HOWEVER once I downloaded the first pics onto my computer (all shot in JPEG) I was very impressed.
This is a serious enthusiast camera that can provide quite stunning pictures. The versatility of the zoom range provides you with quick access to any framing and composition you could normally wish for, and the way the autofocus locks on is quite stellar actually.

So far this could really be the go-anywhere camera a serious enthusiast is looking for. More to come, meanwhile check the pics.

As life starts rolling by faster and faster and the hours at the office grow to hasten the arrival of stress and tiredness, I start taking more and more value at the rare moments I have to myself.

Being a new entrepreneur isn’t easy and getting time away from the crowd and the calls and huge blur of to-dos and tasks and duties sometimes drown me but there is always light at the end of the tunnel of each day and the start of another.

My early morning and late evening escapes and adventures, those not-quite-so accidental detours from route between home and office and getting lost on the pavement to the most peculiar places.I take out all that stress out on the road and let the wind clear me of my worries and ride out into another day. This is what these wheels give me. My escape. Thank you.
